About Our Congregation

A faith community rooted in Scripture and committed to serving Northern Ontario.

Decades of Faith in Northern Ontario

Jehovah's Witnesses have maintained a faithful presence in Northern Ontario for well over six decades. From humble beginnings in the early days of the Porcupine and Timmins region, the congregation has grown into a vibrant, close-knit community dedicated to the study and application of Bible principles.

The Timmins Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses was formally established to serve the growing community across the city and surrounding areas. Over the years, the congregation has welcomed hundreds of families, conducted thousands of personal Bible studies, and maintained a consistent presence of hope and practical support for people of all walks of life.

Today, the congregation is composed of families, young adults, seniors, and young people who share a common goal: to know God better and to help their neighbors do the same. Members come from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, united by their love for the Bible and their commitment to the high moral and ethical standards it teaches.

As part of the worldwide association of Jehovah's Witnesses — one of the most geographically diverse religious organizations on earth — the Timmins Congregation shares in a global mission while maintaining a strong focus on local community. With over 8.7 million active Witnesses in 239 lands and territories, the brotherhood we belong to truly spans the globe, yet every congregation is founded on genuine personal relationships and neighbourly care.

Open Doors, Open Hearts

Our Kingdom Hall at 1340 MacLean Drive, Timmins, ON P4N 6L6 serves as the central meeting place for all congregation activities. The building is clean, accessible, and welcoming — designed not as an ornate religious structure but as a functional, community-oriented gathering place.

Visitors are always welcome at any of our regularly scheduled meetings. There is no collection plate passed, no dress code enforced, and no obligation placed on anyone who attends. Our meetings typically run approximately two hours and consist of a public discourse on a Bible topic, a group discussion of a Bible-based article, and a midweek Bible education program.

Our Core Values

Every activity and program of our congregation is shaped by these four foundational commitments.

Integrity

We are committed to honesty in all our dealings — with our neighbors, our community, and with God. Integrity is the foundation of every relationship we build.

Compassion

Our congregation members genuinely care about the wellbeing of those around them. We strive to offer encouragement, a listening ear, and practical assistance whenever possible.

Community

We believe that people flourish when they belong to a caring, supportive community. Our congregation works actively to strengthen family bonds and neighborly connections throughout Timmins.

Education

The Bible contains practical wisdom for every area of life. We are committed to sharing that wisdom freely and helping individuals develop a deeper, personal understanding of Scripture.
